Met boyfriend here for dinner as I was about to go home and eat take out by myself. But he came out and we ate here.Sushi Express is originally from Taiwan. It's one of those conveyor belt sushi places. Except it's cheap. Everything costs $8. Seriously. Usually cheap sushi places, quality is bad or they give you cheap fish selections or not a lot of variety. Not this place. A lot of the other branches have a long line. Quality and selection isn't a lot. But this branch is good. Lots of selection! Even sea urchin! It's also clean and tidy. And huge..there are two large conveyor belts, pumping out sushi as fast as they can make it. Queue to get in is fast. Perhaps not too many know this place or it's larger than the other branches? I don't know, but I waited 15 minutes and it was 7:30 pm on a Saturday night and got a spot. No need for a menu as there isn't one. Just sit, grab your sushi off the belt and eat.
There is a time limit of 60 minutes but honestly, who can eat for that long at these places?
Our table of sushi.
This is my favorite. Ice cream mochi. It's wrapped in a pandan leaf. It's icy cold. It's off a conveyor belt!
Don't go in expecting high end grade sushi. No. But for $8 a plate, it's pretty good. And no tummy aches after!
