A year ago, when this kiosk opened, I notice they had an ice cream machine. The staff informed me it was coming soon. I looked forward to it. As I live near here and I seem to always be in Hysan Place, I would glance and see ... nope. No ice cream. They started to use it as a shelf so I gave up on them ever having ice cream.
But surprise! Surprise! After in what seems like forever, they have ice cream for sale! I notice it while I was walking towards Honeymoon Dessert and the staff called out "Ice cream! We have ice cream!"
I paused. REALLY? YOU FINALLY HAVE ICE CREAM?? Well, I had to get one after they finally offer it a year or more later.
Menu is in English and Chinese. There are two flavors: Hoikkaido milk and Hoikkaido cheese. You can order a twist version. You can have it in a cone which is made from a cheese biscuit or cup which will include a piece of their signature cheese chat biscuit.
Curious over the cone, I ordered a the twist version of Hoikkaido milk and Hoikkaido cheese in a cone ($48). Portion size was not very big. It does melt very quickly as well. The Hoikkaido milk wasn't very strong. The cheese taste wasn't as strong either. It was there but just subtle. It was smooth but not thick and creamy like most Japanese ice cream places. The cone was actually the most interesting. It had a slight salty cheese taste that went well with the ice cream. It was crunchy. I honestly liked the cone a lot more than the ice cream itself.
For $48, it was a bit expensive as there are other places that do a far better soft serve. But the cone was really excellent and the best part. But that isn't the focus is it? Unsure if I'd be back.
