From my last visit to Shake'em Buns, I vaguely remembered the menu mentioned Cheese Steaks. Upon confirming with my boyfriend, I went to Shake'em Buns today and try their Cheese Steaks out.

From what I remembered, Shake'em Buns toasts their buns for burgers. The buns were usually toasted very crunchy and went extremely nice with the Burgers. While Cul-De-Sac's bun was a bit on the soft side, I held great expectation on Shake'em Bun's Cheese Steaks.

The Cheese Steaks was called Philly Willy. Philly Willy was sliced beef topped with melted cheese on a baguette. The baguette was way cruncher than I expected, it was crunchy to the point that it went overly dry. The beef was very thinly sliced with texture like those hot pot beefs, but was however too thin to give a contended texture as Cul-De-Sac did. The onions were nicely fried with pepper to give a chilly taste. The cheese were disappointing as it was not melted at all. It was those squared cheese which sliced in halves, and hence could not melt as perfectly as the shredded cheese as Cul-De-Sac's.

For the Shakes, I tried the Big John this time which was a banana milkshake. The shakes had a strong banana and creamy milk taste. There was also bits of banana in it. The shakes was quite nice to enjoy but was however slightly sweet to taste.

The Philly Willy, to be blunt, was no where close to the Cheese Steaks that Cul-De-Sac offers. However, the burgers in Shake'em buns were pretty nice given the price. Do come to Shake'em Buns for their Burgers, but for Cheese Steaks, go to Cul-De-Sac. (http://www.openrice.com/restaurant/commentdetail.htm?commentid=2131565)
