I haven't been a month back from Seoul, and this already the second Korean place I've been to in HK. I keep telling my friends about my food adventures and they're like "let's do that here!" and then... back at the hof. I wrote a song about it:I like chicken.I like liquor.Hof & sojuPlease deliver.(Sung to the tune of "Meow Mix" from Austin Powers.)Anyway, after trying several places with crazy long lines, we settled on Fairyland Chickenpia (I guess it's like a cornucopia... but with the corn* re

Anyway, after trying several places with crazy long lines, we settled on Fairyland Chickenpia (I guess it's like a cornucopia... but with the corn* replaced with chicken).
First up, I disapprove of chips instead of fries. This is a big mark against the place in my book.
Chicken: I liked it. The breading was thick and crunchy (not crispy), it reminded me of the thick breading that comes on chicken tenders in the US. In fact, "really good chicken tenders-- except from different parts of the chicken" is probably how I'd describe this to an American. I'm just imgaining them with some cream gravy... I've had worse things in Korea, but I've also had better. I think the place down the street, Lee Family, does better.
Verdict: Really good, B+
As I've just said, the food here is really good. I won't say "excellent," but I would not hesitate to eat here again except maybe for the lack of fries, which I hereby again lament. I think you can get better Korean chicken nearby, but if it was me I'd just go to where the lines were shortest, cuz it's all good.
Other Info. :
They have Makkoli! Doesn't make up for the lack of fries though.
The area in the bathroom where you squeeze yourself in for the urinal is so narrow that they made one of my male friends use the women's bathroom because he wouldn't fit!
*yes, I know the 'corn' in 'cornucopia' means 'horn.' Give me at least some credit.
