I previously visited Chino's when they first opened and was rather disappointed with the food.  One of my friends at dinner actually got food poisoning! Since then, approximately 1.5 years ago, we decided to re-visit the restaurant tonight and were hugely disappointed yet again. Firstly, the food was still  mediocre - everything tasted rather sweet, a little too sour, and felt rather heavy. I know this is Mexican food, but infused with Japanese flavours - I thought it would have been a little lighter and cleaner on the palate.  Nothing was really a stand-out, and it all tasted rather the same.

The atmosphere was sterile ... felt a little boring, and has not got really a vibe that excites a diner. Which would be OK if the food was outstanding.

The service was TERRIBLE. The waitress who served us asked us to move tables in between our meal! When we entered the restaurant another waiter asked us if we would like to sit at a table for two, or the kitchen counter. We said we would sit at the table, not realising we would later be asked to move as it was actually a table for three, and they had some people waiting outside (despite there being lots of seats available at the kitchen counter!!). I was so annoyed as we were in the midst of dinner, and being asked to move. There were other tables of three also being occupied by couples, so why were we asked to move and not anyone else!?!  She didn't even feel bad about it, nor did the other staff when we complained.

I understand that the restaurant has limited seating, and if we were originally told that we may need to move if a party of three arrived, then we would have either accepted or declined the table, but nobody gave us that indication at all, and we were surprised and shocked when asked to move. totally unprofessional.

The prices are steep for this type of food & location. Overpriced, sloppy food.

WILL NOT BE BACK.
