After the lackluster experience at the shack, I was hesitant to try 5 Guys. Encouraged by colleagues I decided to give it a shot. Free peanuts did not interest me - I’m here for the burger and fries. 5 Guys are quite generous with up to 16 free toppings, including toppings that most other places would charge for, like mushrooms. I only chose mushrooms, onions, tomato and lettuce for my burger - too many toppings will actually ruin the burger. Can’t see from the pic but burger had double patt

Can’t see from the pic but burger had double patties. It was nicely constructed but the bun was too soft and got soggy.

The fries were the highlight. Fried in peanut oil the fries had robust flavour. I chose the Cajun version, and the seasoning was perfect. Definitely best fast food french fries in HK. Portions were also generous as they always top off the fries order with an additional scoop.

Meal was not cheap. Burger was $85 and fries was $50. But at least I came away feeling full and satisfied.
