This restaurant opened today (23 May) and I was told that I was customer no.3.

The manager was very friendly and chatted to me about the opening,  menu options and the day's promotions (free soup or spring rolls).

The restaurant had a simple, almost austere but clean-looking set-up with a couple of tables that could seat around 6 on each and some bars set against the wall.  Lighting was bright with the glass store front and spot lights (the lighting might need to be adjusted for the evening, and perhaps some background music?)

For lunch I went eat-in (they do offer take-away) and chose the sour dough sandwich and was served a free bowl of the Tom Kha soup.  The soup was very tasty, although could have been served at a slightly hotter temperature.  The sandwich was nicely presented with the spring roll, sauerkraut and sweet chilli sauce on the side.  Nicely toasted bread, crunchy texture contrasting with the melted cheese and almost meaty texture of the monkey head mushrooms.

Free rose petal water was available from a self-service urn with glasses.  I really liked the sustainability of using washable crockery, cutlery and glasses, which aligns well with the overall plant-based theme.

Overall I was very pleased with the quality of the food and I look forward to going back very soon to try out some of the other dishes on offer here.
It's great to have another vegan option in Sheung Wan!
