Walking with thirstiness under the heat was definitely a torture. We immediately stopped by the closest mall and once went up from the escalator, what caught my attention was the gelato crepe cafe. Glad that there wasn't a queue but me and my friend were standing at the entrance for almost 5 minutes, there wasn't any staff came to bring us in. Only two staff were working but two were actually playing on their phone even it was kind of crowded. I went to the drink bar to seek help and the staff immediately came out to serve. After seated, we immediately flipped the menu to the last few pages of icy cold dessert/drinks.
Again seeking a staff to make the order was difficult, it took us another 5 minutes. We ordered an earl grey crumble crepe with hazelnut gelato and matcha red bean crepe with matcha gelato. Additionally ordered an ice lemon tea.
First came first, ice lemon tea. I wasn't planning to comment on this drink but what caught my attention was the amount of ice. Ridiculous amount that reached the bottom of the glass. Only a straw was given but no long spoon for mixing. Not sure if they forgotten to give or this was what it should be. Even we asked for a spoon, it had never come. We used our knife to do the work.
Earl grey crumble crepe with hazelnut gelato was delicious. It was claimed filled with earl grey cream while it didn't taste anything close to earl grey but hazelnut! With the creamy milky hazelnut gelato, it matched perfectly! Even without any earl grey flavour, whole crepe was delicious. Chewy light sweet crepe with creamy nutty cream somehow gave me an impression of eating kinder bueno. Especially with that crunch, nice work.
Matcha red bean crepe with matcha gelato was again heavenly good! It was a neat work. Matcha gelato was earthy with a strong matcha flavour. Big thumb up with the crepe filled with very matcha.matcha cream plus red bean! Hint of matcha unique bitterness paired so well with the sweet red bean. And the red bean gave extra texture from the chewy crepe. Personally find the monchi were unnecessary adding on, anyhow monchi, red bean and matcha they were always a combo.
All in all, I was expecting nothing just a place for icy drink/dessert. Service was incredibly disappointing and gave me a hit helpless feeling. It is because asking for water and the bill suddenly became a difficult task. Food were what I exactly craving for. I believe my next visit may possibly be a scoop of gelato take away without any service. Guarantee goodness with a smile after.
