On a Tuesday, my colleague Karen and I sneaked out to Tsim Sha Tsui for a quick lunch in this dreamy cafe.We both ordered a 3-course lunch, with a salad or soup, a main and a dessert.I have picked this Cream of Beet to kick start our girls' lunch. This soup was very silky, and the beet itself was sweet. Just wish there was a piece of crispy crouton or some garnish to go with it. Karen ordered an Orange Salad with Balsamic Vinegar.  Karen ordered an Orange Salad with Balsamic Vinegar. While this is practically a vegan dish that I won't usually pick, the salad was truly refreshing and lovely indeed on this summer day!

For main, I ordered this Grilled US sirloin and it was nicely grilled to medium, tender in texture. I know I should not expecting much from a piece of steak from a lunch set, but the meat itself was rather bland in flavour, and what makes it worse is there was very little seasoning so excues my rudeness but it was tasteless. The boiled veggies by the side was dull as well. It would be better if they at least put a bit of salt into the pot when boiling. Thank god the veggie was not too watery because it would have reminded me so much of my school lunch if otherwise.

Stewed Lamb Pie on the other hand was much better. The short bread pastry was buttery and flaky, while lamb chunks were extremely tender and flavourful. The gravy was pretty rich. Not bad overall.

For dessert, we could ordered both the tiramisu and creme brulee to share. With this hearty presention, we both though they were going to be some really hearty homemade dessert ... which turned out not quite the same as what we expected. The mascapone layer that I thought was supposed to be fluffy and creamy was tough and crumbly instead? A bit of a weird texture to be frank even though the amount of expresso, kahlua and the overall flavour of the whole dessert tasted normal. The creme brulee tasted truly like Chinese steamed egg but whipped with cream instead of water. You can see that they did try to make it with actual vanilla seeds but they just couldn't bring out the flavour but I am sorry to say it is a real pity.

Having tried their Afternoon Tea Set a year ago with some friends in Uni (Review: http://goo.gl/CLxvcw), I actually had much expectation from their lunch. Anyhow it was still a nice lunch out with Karen. So nice to actually take a break.
