I could finally date my friend in Causeway Bay! I have not seen her for a long time, so we decided to find a cozy place to chit chat and dinner. The restaurant design is marine style, full of related pictures, figures and even the sofa is blue and white stripped. We were asked to sit under the picture.

After a long discussion of what to choose from the numerous choices they provided, we decided to order 1 savoury galette and then a sweet crepe as dessert.

Galette is gluten free and suitable for all people. La Bigoudene was not a common choice for those who came here the first time, we ordered this because it has quite a lot of ingredients. It has French cooked ham, emmental cheese, egg, salad and 2 veggies of our choice. We chose mushroom and potatoes, so there were 6 different ingredients in 1 galette!!!

We thought the galette was crispy but in fact it was a thin pancake. Cheese was melted into the galette, the flavour was enhanced by the soft potatoes and non fully cooked egg. I love the mushroom as it was seasoned just right.

Then it was time for dessert. La Quebec Saint Malo is also not a common choice, but as both of us are berry lovers, we could not help ourselves. This contains vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, fresh strawberries and blueberries, also almonds and sour sauce as toppings.

The whipped cream was not heavy not thick, it was smooth, thin and has a bit of liquidity, so we were not afraid to eat it all. The almonds had cruchiness. Combined with the sourness of the sauce and berries, the overall taste was well balanced, not too sweet and it was quite refreshing.

Maybe we were not used to taste savoury galettes, we loved the dessert one more! We should order two sweet crepes instead, haha!
