Today I want to find a delicious and special restaurant to enjoy with my beloved. I myself like Spanish cuisine very much, so does my partner, and therefore I searched a Spanish-food restaurant in HK Island. One of my favourite types of food in Spanish culture is ‘Tapa’, which is an appetizer or snack translates to a small portion of any kind of Spanish cuisine, and I found a restaurant specifically famous in cooking Tapa, Tapa Room, located between Causeway Bay and Wan Chai.Tapa Room is a very
Tapa Room is a very popular restaurant, reservation is a must even during weekdays, or else you need to wait a while. We arrived at Tapa room at around 7pm, and the restaurant is nearly full at 730pm. So, let see what Tapa Room have.
As we mainly wanted to enjoy the Spanish Tapa, so we ordered 4 Tapas, 1 Main course and 2 alcohol drinks.
✺ 1. Crispy Tomato Bread (White Anchovy; Aioli)
People always said anchovy is very salty, but Tapa Room makes it so soft with the distinct tomato sauce and aioli. The combination of anchovy, sauces and the crispy bread is excellent, and it is definitely a wonderful appetizer to start the dinner.

The slow-cooked Octopus is delicacy, and it is quite hard to make properly, at least I cannot. Octopus Carpaccio was cooked very tender, plus the unique dressing, simply you will feel the fresh taste.

This is more like a sandwich, foie gras tastes rich, buttery and delicate. While it is served with Crispy bread, its strong favour is mediated and become smoother.

Honestly speaking, I didn't know what Barcelona style tastes like before. But after eating, I realised that actually it is cooked with salt, garlic and olive oil. The oil is perfect and flavourful, and when those prawns are finished, I really wanted to taste the remaining oil, that's crazy.

Finally, after 4 Tapas, we had a main course – Seafood Paella. Basically the Seafood Paella includes prawns, squid, mussels and clams, after the ingredients are baked and have given their flavour, these give the rice as the whole paella a special taste. The taste of Seafood Paella cannot compare with general Chinese cuisine, and you can feel there is a smoky taste inside the rice.

We ordered two alcohol drinks, first one is Tanqueray. This is rather a classic drink, Tanqueray gin, Tonic & Lemon, it provides a little more sweetness and very accessible and refreshing drink indeed.

Sangria is an alcoholic wine drink originating from Spain and traditionally made with red/white wine and chopped fruits. The fruit Tapa Room used is Green Apple, the cocktail here is very soft and kind of sweet, which is suitable for girls to drink.
