Went to the Lee Theatre Plaza 7/F location for lunch; takeaway. The man at the podium recommended a fish dish that specifically said "deep fried" on the menu. I said that I did not want anything that was deep-fried and was leaning toward a soup. He said the soup served multiple bowls; was for sharing, so I shouldn't get it. I said that I did not want anything that was deep-fried and was leaning toward a soup. He said the soup served multiple bowls; was for sharing, so I shouldn't get it. He encouraged me to get the fish dish and told me that it was really not deep fried; was fried whole (Ii.e., the oil doesnt really penetrate the fish) and served w/a sweet/sour sauce. I said okay. The dish was 78 HKD and rice was 10 HKD.

When I got back to my office and opened the container the "fish" (mock fish) was thinly sliced and deep fried, through and through! I could have lived with that if the taste was good, but the "fish" was chewy/rubbery and had no fish flavor at all, except maybe a little in the mock fish skin. It's really not good by any stretch of the imagination and yet I'm sitting here, eating it because I'm starving, but I'm envying all my co-workers, who are eating 27 HKD bowls of delcious, steaming soup and I'm feeling really annoyed that I just spent 88 HKD on something that is essentially crummy, rubbery tofu.
