Santorini recently opened a restaurant at QRE in place of one of my favourite restaurants, Que Mo (which moved to Ship Street).  A friend and I decided to try it out. The prices were higher than average for Wan Chai and even a little on the high side for QRE. I ordered the chicken while my friend ordered the moussaka. The lunch set came with a clear chicken soup and salad which were not bad.  Then came the main dishes. I thought that the chicken was a bit dry and had some weird red sauce that ma

I thought that the chicken was a bit dry and had some weird red sauce that made me suspect for a moment that the chicken was not well cooked.  The portion was big enough.  The tzatziki sauce jar was quite small and definitely not enough for all of the chicken pieces.  Halfway through the meal, I asked for some more tzatziki sauce.  I was informed that they would charge HK$30 for that extra jar of sauce.  I was surprised that they would charge HK$30 for sauce that likely only cost them a few dollars to make/buy.

I didn't take a bit out of my friend's dish but she said it was average and similar to lasagna.

We didn't stay for dessert due to the price and  the HK$30 incident somewhat ruined the meal.  I told the manager about the HK$30 charge for extra sauce, he replied that it was a company policy. If that is the case, it is quite a petty company policy.

Santorini lost itself a few future costumers for the sake of HK$30 refill of tzatziki sauce.  I won't be going back again, nor will I recommend this restaurant to anyone.
