This is a food kiosk located in front of AEON supermarket, and so their kitchen is open style with bar tables all around it. It is self serviced, you order and pay at the counter first, then wait to pick up your food with the buzzer.

Overall I don't like this shop mainly because of the food quality. I know I shouldn't expect much for the price point, but I would still insist on that. The alternative to this shop is to buy cooked food from the supermarket which is even cheaper and I think it will taste on-par (or even better!), even if it's pre-made food. The only problem with that option is limited seating area due to COVID, and that's the reason we picked this shop because there's very little to no queue - we got the table right away after another couple left.

Not to say I'm a great cook (and mind you, I don't really cook Japanese food), but I think everyone can achieve this level of cooking with the help of modern 'ready meal' package. My idea of good restaurant is that it should taste better than if I cook myself at home.

What we ordered;
I always have a preference for Japanese curry, and so I ordered a Gillette Pork Curry (HKD59). I ordered "big" but not so sure what is big about it - maybe extra serving of rice and curry sauce. The sauce is..... ok at best. As mentioned, it feels like they just crack open a ready meal package and dump right in. It tastes very generic (I personally think it needs a bit more sweet), and has very little extra stuffs (potato) in it. The pork cutlet is very thick with breading - not the pork, lol. Pork is definitely overcooked and contain very little tastes. It is crispy and doesn't feel oily so that's a good thing. Nothing to say on rice - quite standard stuff. The pickle that comes with it is also ok.

My wife went for Beef Inaniwa Udon (HKD59). Let me just put it this way - I can go to AEON supermarket, buy frozen udon, udon broth seasoning package, onion, and cheap frozen sliced fatty beef, and I'm sure I can make this too. Everything is so generic.

To top that up, they chose to use disposable cutleries. Most people might prefer that during COVID, but I think it really made it feel even cheaper than it is. Using tiny spoon to have some udon broth is not pleasant. The spoon and fork also feel very flimsy - feels like I have to be extra careful every time I want to pick something up.

It's been hard for me to put up a bad review because I normally just have some reservation for that on the price to quality. This doesn't pass that excuse though. It's probably something I would eat if I have no choice and really want some Japanese food, but I wouldn't pay for it if I do have a choice too (and the obvious choice is to just buy some cooked food from supermarket and go home to eat if I'm not in a rush). If I need to be completely thorough, I saw Teriyaki Chicken Rice being cooked in the kitchen quite a few times and that actually looks quite good - maybe that's what all other returnees are ordering, but I couldn't know.

Below is their menu for your reference.
