3-course lunch set at $548pp in a Michelin star restaurant is considered a bargain, however the below par service and lackluster menu made me ponder whether it belongs in this calibre at all? Chilled green asparagus velouté is a refreshing cold soup, but shaved black truffle doesn’t add any flavor or aroma, maybe a black truffle oil would serve the dish better. Beef tartare with capers, rocket, watercress and fried quail egg has nice tangy seasoning, but the toast underneath was way too dry. I’d

Main we have a nice medium rare pan-seared bavette with charred crispy edges, but the sauce lacks body and quite sloppy as you can see. Overall the dish tasted very oily, the charred cabbage was the best part yet it was immersed in oil. The pickled courgette was a weird misfit.

Ravioli is nicely prepared with a lovely sweet potato filling. Hazelnut and black truffle are classic pasta garnishes, the sauce brings a rich nuttiness but again very greasy.

Kaffir lime panna cotta was a saving grace, the panna cotta permeated a fragrant kaffir lime aroma, with tropical fruity toppings that eats very well together and cleansed the palate, much needed after the greasy mains.

Sourdough tasted really good with deep prominent fermented sourness, BUT not serving it hot was a crime. The service was bare minimum, the staff didn’t bother to introduce dishes, simply serve and leave.

This was not what I expect from a Michelin restaurant, felt like just being at a bistro. I absolutely adored Cornerstone but left very disappointed with Arcane, the supposedly elevated Michelin flagship of the group. I would go back to Cornerstone over and over again but probably not here.
