Came here under my friend`s request. Otherwise, I would not have known of its existence. Decor & Hygiene:It had quite an interesting display of arts. Ha. By that, I mean the huge drawing that included some of my chiildhood favourite animes like Slam Dunk and Sailor Moon. Also, the menu was hand drawn, which made it a cute welcoming place. Also, the menu was hand drawn, which made it a cute welcoming place. We didn`t eat inside so I do not know what the interior was like. Therefore, I assume their hygiene is up to par.
Service:After trying some other places, I was full so I thought maybe my friend and I could share a combo that came with a hand roll, tea and red bean cake. However, I was told that the tea could only be enjoyed in house and that we were not allowed to share if we were to go in. I understand sharing is not good for business, but come on, it was a weekday and they were not busy, could they not have bent their rules a little. Oh well... they were friendly though.
Taste & Value:
I ended up just ordering the Red bean cake($5) and my friend got the ultimate handroll that had a wiener, shrimp roes and crabmeat ($22). The roll was made fairly quickly and looked fresh. When I asked my friend how it was, she said it was not amazing, but was okay. As for my cake, it was a pretty good deal since it was very filling. Of course it was not as good as the ones you get in Japan, but it was not bad. The cake was soft, and there was a lot of red bean paste in it, so the cake was overall mushy. I found it to be overly sweet and I struggled to have anything sweet for the rest of the day.
Final Verdict:I felt rejected as a customer when I was not allowed to share the combo with my friend, and the food offered was not all that special so I will probably just walk pass it next time.
