Mr. Taco Truck is cheap, but you get what you pay.
We have ordered a burrito (58 HKD) and it was tasteless, no guacamole in it, no sour sauce and little salsa, almost no refried beans and lots of rice.
Also, we had an enchilada, which costs almost the same as the burrito (54 HKD) but it is minuscule in size. The enchilada was fried, which I have never seen before in a mexican restaurant, plus it was covered up in chunks of onion (maybe you guys like, but I am not a big fan).
inside no sauces as well and completely tasteless (except for the strong onion taste).
to try and fix the taste of the two dishes above we ordered guacamole, which was ok, if it wasn't that it cost 15 HKD for a really small portion while in all the other more expensive restaurant guacamole is included in the dishes and if you pay extra for it, they basically cover you up with it!
i was so hungry after the small enchilada that i had to order more, i asked for veggie quesadilla and i was disappointed again, it was basically just a 2 inch wide by 1 inch large quesadilla with just lettuce and cheese inside, albeit for just 20 HKD.
did not really do the trick and i had to run to a closeby fast food to order more food after we left almost 200 HKD in Mr. Taco Truck.
they are still in soft opening, so i really hope they fix their food and get better.
one huge problem in my opinion is that they are inside Lan Kwai Fong area and they have no alchool, which I think really does not work,...
in any case, i am not sure I will give them a second chance after tonight!
