The cafe was super crowded and staff members were extremely rude to everybody, especially locals. Staff members accused us staying at the cafe for more than the “allocated” time limit for each table, and requested to check for food/ beverages order histories on customers’ mobile phones instead of checking their own tablets used at the cashiers/serving counters when we told the staff members that we have only sat down for around 30-40 minutes. They weren’t even apologetic when they found out that
What’s worse was that they also allowed tourists to hustle around they were often crowded near the windows, which resulted in them blocking most of the windows and views, and honestly, this was the worst experience I have ever had at Cupping Room. Oh and the food was not even heated up properly even though we have requested for it to be heated up when placing our orders.
Pretty bummed cos I loved the branch at Central. And to quote from their website: “From the beginning, our focus was to bring carefully roasted and prepared coffee to Hong Kongers in a comfortable environment.” It’s pretty sarcastic as the Harbour City branch was one of the worst cafes I’ve been to.
But the garlic bun was pretty nice. Would recommend purchasing garlic buns to enjoy elsewhere and don’t bother wasting your money on their overpriced coffee.
