I came to this TST restaurant after my friend told me he purchased a Groupon deal. Paying $100 HKD for a $180 coupon is a good deal, right? Well, 180 dollars here gets you next to nothing. The main meals cost a bit less than 180, but in a display of capitalist cruelty I have never seen before, they charge individually for all side dishes. A tiny dish of potatoes, baby carrots, or etc will set you back 40 HKD, ruining any hopes of keeping the meal under 180 HKD for my coupon. And in another act o
My friend and I purchased a pork knuckle main dish and a sausage platter. The pork knuckle was decent, though all too reminiscent of CNY pork meals. The sausage platter was tremendously disappointing, as it looked and tasted like KFC crisscut fries plus several ParkNShop sausages for the outrageous price of 260 HKD.
After finishing the meal and feeling sick from all the fat, grease, and salt, I felt like I had just finished a fast food meal, not a meal at an upscale restaurant. And it cost nearly 500 HKD. The waitresses also needed multiple remindings before they gave us our full discount. The final total still came to us paying 170 HKD each, which is frankly 100 more than I would say the meal was worth.
I should also add in fairness that the decorum and the ambience of the restaurant was nice. I liked the barrel settings and the German translations of food on the menus. They also provided a takeaway box (shockingly free of charge!) and the staff were courteous. I wondered if they were badmouthing me and my friend in Tagalog, however, and I would be surprised if they spat in our meal as we weren't always subtle with our disappointment in the place.
Anyway, I really wouldn't go there again. There are really better places to go in HK. If you want fried, unhealthy junk you might as well buy a six pack at 7/11 and get a takeaway from McDonalds for roughly the same experience.
TLDR: Expensive unhealthy s***.
