I've never left a review on openrice and I don't usually leave a review unless I'm very happy or unhappy. And, I was very happy with Le Pain Quotidien from the food to service. It was beyond my expectation.The place was advised by some of my French friends who assured the food was authentic and tasty. The place was advised by some of my French friends who assured the food was authentic and tasty. I had a brunch with my boyfriend and it became one of his favourite French cafe in Hong Kong. The menu offers a variety of choices (appetizers, cold and hot dishes as well as delightful desserts) so it is possible to go either for a snack, lunch or dinner. I strongly advise the mozarella and prosciutto tartine whereas my French friends recommended the organic vegetable pot au feu. They also have a great selection of daily baked bread. Regardless of what meal of the day(i.e. Brunch, lunch or dinner) or what occasions you are going for, you may have a look at the wine selection that can be ordered as a glass or the bottle, because they have a great selection that you can choose the best wine for the moment.
A lot of reviews here say the service was disappointing but I was satisfied with its quick service and friendly staffs. Try to smile and start a conversation first. They will smile and be friendly.
Another thing I love the most is its ambience. It's very difficult to find a cozy, spacious environment with great food. It's similar to a real French cafe. It's as if I'm actually eating in France. Dining is not just about food but an experience. So, even though the menu is not very cheap but it still is a decent value for money with food, service, ambience and everything.
I recommend for the great experience.
