It was going to be my birthday soon, thus my wife decided to bring me to a posh restaurant to celebrate my occasion. She told me that we will be going to Le Cafe Du Mont Blanc for dinner. It was located at Happy Valley, not easily accessible. We took a minibus from Causeway Bay area, and reached the place in moments later. The whole restaurant was decorated in western setting, with high ceiling. The dinner set was in French and Chinese language, thus it was very French theme. For an authentic French meal, their price was reasonably priced at $418 to $568. The set consisted of soup, appetizer, main course and drinks.
Cheese radish soup - The texture of the soup was slightly to the thicker type and was served hot. I could really taste radish meat in it and was rather cheesy.
Bun - The waitress told us that the bun was served fresh and made from France directly. It was warm outside and very crispy outside. When i took the first bite, it was moistful and soft inside.
Mini wanton with lobster tail meat - Mini wanton was chewy, with pasta texture. It was slightly spicy, which suited me. Lobster meat was chewy and fresh too.
Beef tenderloin with baked puff - This was one of their signature dishes and it certainly did not disappoint. The baked puffs covering the beef was extremely soft and crispy, baking to perfection. Even though the beef was cooked 50%, it did not taste that raw and very chewy and tender. The sauce was flavourful as well.
Egg pudding - It was served cold and was soft and smooth. Some cream was provided at the top to make it creamy.
Cappuccino - It was smooth and served hot, with strong coffee taste and smell.
