The Green Waffle offersexcellent casual dining in comfortable surroundings. The diner is very much open plan and offers pavement style dining where one can eat and watch the world go by. Service was very attentive but never intrusive. Topping up water and clearing empty plates was always prompt. I had their fish and chips which was excellent - succulent fish deep fried in a crispy batter which was perfect and not oily at all. The chips were equally good and obviously freshly prepared. I had their fish and chips which was excellent - succulent fish deep fried in a crispy batter which was perfect and not oily at all. The chips were equally good and obviously freshly prepared. The meal came with what tasted like a homemade tartare sauce and also vinegar. I had a glass of the house red with my meal which was a good accompaniment - fruity with hints of raisins and figs. Service was prompt but I was not made to feel rushed in any way. It was a very positive dining experience and I wouldn’t hesitate to highly recommend it - I’ll certainly be going again.
