I saw Duck and Waffle open up at the IFC in Hong Kong and felt like giving it a shot. We walked in at 11 without having to wait and it turned out to be a decent Saturday brunch with the restaurant operating at far greater efficiency and service quality than I'd have expected.

We went for the classic duck and waffle, plus English breakfast. The duck confit was a perfect combo of tender and crunch, savory and fatty. But the waffles were really the highlight. They were generously greased and floured to make for a firm outer shell, which we loved. I thought they were the best waffles I've had in a long time. English Breakfast was fine. The hash browns and sourdough were good, but other than that nothing was wow.

Hosting staff were very welcoming (which is important) and the big grassy duck statues standing in the middle of the restaurant were charming. It was also fun watching all the action in the open kitchen. If you like waffles, give the place a try.
