Black Series is back! This popular Chinese fusion restaurant Ho Lee Fook offer a comprehensive menu at just $628pp, what a bargain! The whole menu is shared between 2, every dish comes in very generous portion. Started with a selection of dim sum including classic har gow (shrimp dumpling) and siu mai (pork dumpling). The fried taro dumpling had a surprising curried beef filling that packed extra punch. The fried exterior was super crispy yet with no grease at all, superb execution. MVP was hand

MVP was hands down the prawn toast x Okonomiyaki, honestly the Okonomiyaki part was more the gimmick but the prawn toast was excellent. Prawn mix was bouncy and juicy, the toast was so so crispy but not dry at all dressed with just a little mayo and the bull dog sauce for flavor, the total experience was a complete triumph.

Steamed Live Razor Clams is a classic Chinese style seafood dish featuring the humongous razor clams steamed with aged garlic and soy sauce, then the glass noodles suck up all the umami flavors from the clams and the garlic.

The roast goose is fatty succulent all you ever wanted for roast goose. The glossy crispy skin is very on point. Char Siu is so tender, with perfect not too sweet honey glaze. The edges could be more charred and I personally would like more smoky char aroma.

Wok-Fried Cauliflower and Brussels Sprouts side dish is designed for me featuring my favorite cauliflower and brussels sprouts (and they are cute little babies!), the little bacon bits and chili jam serve as the perfect seasoning to the veg, I would never get bored with an excellent veg dish like this.

Dessert is Chinese at core but a complete western makeover! Tofu, longan, red dates and goji berry are common Chinese nourishments, such a refreshing new take on these common chinese nourishments and absolutely amazing. The longan granita has prominent flavor and longan meat are mixed in so you got a little chew within and extra boost of longan flavor. It’s balanced with a great tofu sorbet while dates and goji berry added sweetness.
