We were delighted to learn that there is finally a decent and traditional Japanese place in TKO. How do we know it's traditional? Because we have been a loyal customers in both the Qbay store and the Kln Bay Store. The chef is a Japanese gentleman . We went straight and book a seat right away. The interior is of the style like the Qbay Branch. Its even has the same banner displaying some festive symbols of Japan culture. The shop has some little kitten decoration here and there.
I ordered a premium Donburi - Minced Tina (with sea urchin and slamon roe)
I would give it a thumb up. The minced tuna is very fresh and hearty, you can see it tops up the bowl a lot.
I especially like the sea urchin too. They are sweet. the size of each sea urchin is big too.
The salmon roe has a bouncy skin so it pop in your mouth. Its gives the bowl a texture enhancement.

Here, the sushi vinegar is not premixed in the rice. You can adjust amount of vinegar in your rice. The vinegar comes in the form of jelly. It melts when it is mixed with the rice.

The store manager suggest to eat the plant Donburi with out the vinegar first. And then later add the vinegar jelly to the rice. Finally, when all sashimi is gone, add the seafood soup to the rice. So it become rice soup which is also popular is the old Japanese days.
I must say the soup is very nice. I can feel the Umami in the soup..... Excellent.
