Wagyu has always been on my restaurant rota. It’s another of Castelo’s well managed restaurants. Location is prime and the menu offers a bit of everything (mainly Western or fusion), prepared very much Anglo style (not recommended if you’re looking for authentic, continental European). Food quality is reliable and Wagyu’s fine lamb shank, great steaks and a broad range of salads are what keep me returning. At night, there’s almost always a happy hour crowd outside Wagyu, but the place is no less
Food Rundown Oysters, <$200
Unfortunately these were a disaster on this particularly night. They didn’t look very plump and tasted very fishy. What happened there? Wagyu Rib-eye 12oz, $775
Great cut and marbling, with its best texture and flavors being brought out by a chef who cooked it well without overcooking, somewhat of a rarity in our dining experiences over the past year in Hong Kong.
Chicken Cobb Salad, $170
A delicious, filling salad for the price. The portion was big and everything was fresh. The grilled chicken was particularly well done.
