Yesterday my friend and I treated ourselves to mouth-watering French food at La Creperie.Oysters 🦪The oysters were served with lemon slices and a shallot sauce, bread and butter. The oysters were served with lemon slices and a shallot sauce, bread and butter. I don’t eat oysters very often, but I’d say they were quite big. The first oyster I tried had the taste of the salty sea with a surprisingly creamy centre. I found that adding more shallot sauce can balance out the salty flavour in the beginning, which I liked. Overall I was pleasantly surprised by the taste: salty and fresh in the beginning, followed by creamy and sweet flavours. I didn’t really have the chance to try the bread and butter. My friend ate it all, so it must have been good 😅
L’Americaine (Galette)
We shared our galette, which turned out to be a good idea, because it’s much more filling than it looks. It was a little bit like a savoury pancake with tomato, beef, cheese and onions, then folded and topped with an egg and some salad. The dough itself has a quite strong taste I didn’t expect. However, this taste matched the flavours of the filling very good and I enjoyed my galette very much. I especially appreciate the egg, which made the dish even more creamy and juicy. In the future I will definitely try more flavours, as they have lots to choose from.
La Jamaicaine (Crêpe)
My oh my, that was one of the most delicious things I’ve ever had. I might be biased because I have a sweet tooth, but this was REALLY good. The Crêpe was served with ice cream, bananas and Grand Marnier. At the table, the waitress purred the burning alcohol over the Crêpe. That’s quite beautiful to look at. However, the taste is the most memorable thing about this dish. The cooked bananas together with the flavour of the flamed Grand Marnier was just PERFECT 🤩. I loved every bite of it. The plate was decorated with chocolate sauce, which I would say was made from real chocolate. But I found it overpowered the flavours of the crepe a bit, so I just left it. The Crêpe together with the ice cream and the cooked bananas were the perfect dessert for a luscious meal ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
