Boyfriend was watching this year's World Cup and participated in Viu TV's competition where he collected enough points to trade in for something. And that something was meals sets at Happy Kitchen Cafe. Not sure where it was, we discovered it was inside the German Pool showroom. This hidden place was quite busy during lunch hour. Menu is in English and Chinese. You order by scanning a QR code and pay on your way out. It also appears they use equipment from German Pool so you can test it out. Things like the water machine and sterilizing water spray.
These are the meal sets boyfriend traded in for.
The Japanese eel rice bowl ($68). It came with a miso soup that was very salty. The eel was ok with a very generous portion of sticky sauce on top. Pickles were provided. The rice was fine but portions were slim. Set also came with an Americano that was a bit meh. I had the Hainan chicken rice ($48). It also came with a cup of Americano. The chicken was boneless but bland. But at least it was moist. The soup was a basic chicken soup. Not much flavour but a large slice of daikon was included. The rice was really good. Probably the best out of everything. A generous portion as well. Not too oily but full of flavour. There was also some cold cumber and lotus root as an appetizer. Not too impressive but edible..
The food is ok. It's not overly expensive if you are a German Pool member. But it's only a simple signing up for their mailing list and you get the discount. The place is clean and quiet. Unsure if I'd be back but it was a place I can look into if I can't find a place to eat.
