Food was great but service was so-so

I went there with my boyfriend last Saturday. Both of us really enjoyed the food, but the waitresses (I think they were Thai / Filipina) were not very attentive. My boyfriend lit a cigarrette and deliberately waited for an ashtray (rather than asking for one). A waitress walked past us, saw the cigarrette, thought for 1 second and walked off! Food was great. I went there with my boyfriend last Saturday. Both of us really enjoyed the food, but the waitresses (I think they were Thai / Filipina) were not very attentive. My boyfriend lit a cigarrette and deliberately waited for an ashtray (rather than asking for one). A waitress walked past us, saw the cigarrette, thought for 1 second and walked off!
Food was great. I skipped starter and had vegetarian gnocchi which was topped with black truffle shavings and it was superb! My boyfriend had some kinda pate to start with, followed by their famous lamb and aubergine wrapped in puff pastry with a thick sauce. For desserts I had ice cream + mini-pancakes (whatever it's called) and my boyfriend had the dessert sampler.
We didn't have alcohol and the bill was only $4xx (I had 2 for 1 coupon) after a reduction of around $2xx, which I though was a good deal.
We really enjoyed the food but they should think twice before hiring!
