My friends and I headed to Tequila Jack's because we all love Mexican food. The place was easy enough to find and the staff was quite friendly. We sat down and were very quickly waited upon. The staff brought us all menus and set our places individually. They then went around and took drink orders. It was happy hour so a bunch of us ordered mango margaritas which were all quite delicious although pathetically weak. I will warn that the pricing was a bit off. The largest size of margarita was actually more expensive than ordering the same volume of the middle size or the smallest size. Further, for $60 I was hoping to get a proper margarita..... tequila and all.
As far as the food goes, the free basket of chips and salsa was delicious. The chips tasted fresh and the salsa wonderful. For our main, most of us ordered the Novo Combo which was our option of and 2 chicken, pork or beef tacos and the option of either salsa, sour cream, or guacamole. At $94 I was expecting to be blown away.
When the waitress came out, the table became silent. There were literally two tacos sitting on a plate with a toothpick in them and the chosen side. Nothing else. The tacos were absolutely tiny as well. Although we found the food to be flavorful for $94 we expected to get some rice, beans, salad or something. The meal was an absolute disappointment.
Every individual at the table, including our featherweight 42kg friend, had to go to the kebab place down the street from Tequila Jacks to eat their fill without spending $300 each.
I found this meal disappointing and unnecessarily expensive. I would not recommend this restaurant to my friends.
