This restaurant opened two weeks ago at a street full of restaurants, but already got queues outside most of the time. So, we decided to see what the buzz is all about. Luckily when we arrived we didn't have to wait long before the hospitable manager showed us to our table. The restaurant was quite homely and felt authentically Japanese. We first had some cooked appetizers and sashimi. From the grilled black cod to the sashimi platter, I must say they were incredible. We first had some cooked appetizers and sashimi. From the grilled black cod to the sashimi platter, I must say they were incredible. The stand out for me was the sashimi. Each type of fish or seafood was as fresh as it gets and you could tell it was sliced professionally. I particularly liked the tuna and toro (fatty tuna belly), the latter practically melts in your mouth.

We also ordered some courses before the sushi were served. It was very filling dinner and all of the dishes were excellent. Even those among us who don't usually get full easily were quite fulfilled. Of the courses, the minced tuna and sea urchin rice, and the sashimi rice were our particular favorites.

As for the sushi, the sushi chef made us a 24-piece platter. The sushi retained the freshness we experienced throughout the meal and they were obviously expertly hand-pressed. Every single piece I had was amazing, but my favorites were the scallops and, again, the toro sushi. We praised our food with the manager and she told us that the sushi chef in fact had had over a decade of experience in Japanese cuisine and as a sushi chef.

The meal was just fantastic. I think it will be my go-to Japanese restaurant (if we could get in). Outstanding!
