Burger Home is a local burger place that was once located in Wanchai Road area. It was small, cheap and friendly. But when I went there one day, it seemed to have closed! Located behind the gas station in Wanchai, Burger Home has a much larger space than before. There are now actual tables and chairs where as before it was one lone cramped bar-like table facing a wall. They even have wifi and it works pretty good!
With the expansion of the place, there is now a much more extended menu. Menu is in English and Chinese. There are more burger varieties and sides. They even now have a variety of vegetarian (not vegan friendly) burgers as well. Prices increased slightly but even if you choose a combo, it's still under $100. Still the cheapest burger in town!
I decided to choose the cheese home burger ($47) and upgraded to combo for $20 which included a drink and fries or chicken nuggets. I liked that I could choose an ice lemon tea for my drink without additional price upgrades as I really do not like soft drinks. I chose chicken nugget as I don't like fries all that much so this was a good option for me. The burger was a decent size. Not big but not small. Bun was pretty good as it was a soft with a slight sweetness. The patty was moist and tender. Cheese was a processed cheese slice and slightly melted. It also included a tomato and lettuce.
The chicken nuggets were a bit disappointing. They had a sponge like consistency and had no real chicken flavor.
Boyfriend ordered the treasure burger ($69) and upgraded with alright fries. The burger included a patty of fish, chicken and pork. It was one towering burger. But from all the patties, I liked the chicken as it was an actual whole slice of chicken meat. The worst was the pork as it was a strange consistency.
Fairly decent though not the best burgers in town. But at least the most wallet friendly one in Hong Kong.
