Placed a reservation a week in advance for birthday celebration dinner for my friend, the restaurant sent two email reminders in request for a credit card for booking confirmation, however, the cancellation policy button just wouldn’t reveal further details, be it on the mobile or on the computer .

Eventually I received a call from the restaurant to confirm my booking , the receptionist who called had no intention whatsoever to state or clarify the cancellation policy, merely requested my credit card information, which I provided, as I have no intention to cancel prematurely anyway.
The person then asked “Are there any concerns about food allergies?” So I checked if there might be gluten free options on the menu because I do have a concern , to that I received a simple “No” for an answer, without further attempt or effort to check with the chef whether any slightest accommodations could be offered.
I also purposefully made a request for a happy birthday message for my friend , when dessert will be served on the evening, and the receptionist apparently replied that she would take note of my request.

Upon arrival on the evening, I reinstated my request for the birthday message to the waitress who showed me the way to our table, to that the person absentmindedly replied “yes yes yes.”

Having ordered and eaten our a la carte dinner, I ordered two desserts one for my friend, another for myself, hoping desserts would arrive w the birthday message.

Desserts arrived, birthday note was absent .
At that point I have to place my request with the waitress overtly in front of my friend , and waited another 15 minutes before the replacement dessert w the birthday note arrived, which was some random dessert I didn’t even order, and the rest was just sheer embarrassment and killjoy.

To top it all off, since my friend made a specific request for onions n spring onions to be removed from the dishes she ordered, the waiter who served her starter, appetizer and main course , came interrupting our conversation with his annoying disclaimer statement that onions n spring onions were not included in her dishes, every time he served a dish.

In a nutshell, it couldn’t be emphasized enough that the level of customer service was frightfully substandard for a restaurant situated in a prime location with this price tag , supposedly labeled for fine dining.

I received a generic email from the restaurant asking for comment and feedback prior to my next reservation. I would be delighted to be notified by the management have a renewed their team of staff who fully comprehend the essence of customer service. Otherwise please rest assured that I won’t be making my next reservation.
