Weeks ago when I was walking from Causeway to. Tai Hang for lunch, I found this cute little froyo store with an eye-catching elephant icon opened right next to the Central Library. Today I got a free tasting invitation from the Fru:yo factory and so I went again. The location is not a convenient one, except for students or the people who are living in Tai Han. The location is not a convenient one, except for students or the people who are living in Tai Han. The inferior decor is very vintage style and the furniture mimic a children playground with little stools and benches. The ambiance is very chill with yellow lighting and english pop music.

Upon getting the froyo, the staff asked if it's okay to get me the 'big elephant' - which is the size of the froyo cup. There are four sizes available in The Fru:yo company with 3 toppings price as below for your reference:
Cute - 140g $33
Fit - 210g $37
Chubby - 350g $42
Family - 420g $52

The Chubby with Granola and Mango (7.5/10)
I wasn't really aware of the huge size of the Chubby until I have it on hand, I guess it could fill 3 people. Judging the portion of the froyo, I reckon there should be more toppings in the Chubby. Actually it would be even better if they fill the topping twice, once in between the froyo and once on top given the size.

The froyo was very creamy and smooth like Yomama, the sweetness was just right but had no tartiness at all. The granola looked different from all the granola brands I have ever tried. The crumbs are a bit small and flakey. The other topping Mango was really yum and went nicely with the froyo.

******************************
Personally I love froyo with a great deal of tartiness like what Berrygood and Bestberry offer. What distinguishes most between froyo and ice-cream is the tartiness, but somehow many popular froyo stores in HK do not emphasize on the tartiness but the range of topping choices.

For the froyo in the Fru:yo Factory, I will consider it as a close substitute of Yomama due to the similar taste and texture. While ones image is a moo moo, the other is an elephant, it all depends on your choice (or actually the location) to decide which on to go for when you next crave for a cup of froyo. If you have not yet try the Fru:yo Factory, I do recommend a visit, as I like their ambiance much more than many other froyo stores.
