大苑子 (English name: DaYung's) is another Taiwanese bubble tea shop that opened in Hong Kong. Located in Tsim Sha Tsui's K11 Art Mall, we went here when it first opened and loved it a lot. A year had passed and we walked by this place again and noticed some changes.
Menu is in English and Chinese. It's takeaway only so there is no 10% service charge. But they do have a tiny sit in area if you want to rest. It's not very big. While glancing at the menu, we noticed they now offer desserts! Various panna cotta and soft serve ice cream.
It was also strawberry season so this is their seasonal drinks.
We decided to rest our feet and order a couple of drinks and try out a dessert.
I had the Strawberry Aiyu Jelly ($36) as I wanted to try something seasonal. A refreshingly sweet strawberry tea with slippery jelly inside. They also added a slice of orange to give it a bit of citrus.
Boyfriend had the Taiwan Irwin Mango Smoothie ($48). At the bottom were chunks of sweet mango and aiyu jelly as well!?! He didn't expect that. The smoothie was not too thick. A very sweet taste of mango as well.
As we noticed they now offer desserts, we decided to share a Mango Panna Cotta ($28). It wasn't a very big size but it did taste good. The panna cotta was soft and creamy. There was a generous layer of mango syrup and mango bits. All so sweet. There was a half a calamansi so when you squeezed it on, the sourness balanced out the over sweetness of the dessert.
The fruit teas are still some of the best around. Glad they kept the quality since opening. Interesting they added desserts to their menu. Would probably try the soft serve next time.
