We've been here twice before and only on the second time did I decide to do a review. The restaurant is simply delightful. "Conveyor belt sushi" is something of s novelty for Americans like myself who will probably never see it stateside, and indeed it is a fun way to eat sushi. Especially for someone as indecisive as I am, simply having the sushi slowly pass by as I make a quick judgment of what looks good is a very efficient way to get me eating and not looking at a menu. The only problem was
The quality of the sushi at this restaurant is excellent. I normally do not like sushi, but I have decided that's only because I've had so much of it that was mediocre. I would indeed be happy to call myself a sushi fan if it all tasted like this.
Additionally, I have decided a must-have to accompany sushi is sake. There is no more satisfying way to cleanse the pallet than with a chilled sake. I can't remember which I had but if you ask the server they should be able to tell you which pairs with sashimi and which pairs with the hot dishes.
Some notable choices:
The seared wagyu roll is exquisite.
Additionally we ordered this tuna sashimi. one is spicy and the other was plain. The "spicy tuna" had all the flavorings of the mashed stuff that I suspect most Americans would recognize as spicy tuna, but they were laid on top of the tuna slice rather than mixed together, which was fun and also delicious. (Not knocking the other dish---thats what I actually expected when my wife said she ordered spicy tuna.) The best way I've come up with to describe the taste of this kind of tuna is that it is like "candy".
Additionally, my partner got the sea urchin from Hokkaido. It was...interesting, and maybe not for me, but indeed if you're ever tempted to try it, this is a reliable place to do so, as they source it very well.
The others we don't know the name of because we just grabbed it off the conveyor belt. We had mostly assorted fish slice sashimi like this:
I also had a scallop sashimi. It was lovely.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed this place and will return whenever we're in the mood for sushi.
