I was a fan of Cochrane's Bar when they were situated just next to the Mid Level Escalator. Devastated when it closed down and simply elated that Cochrane has found a new home in it's present address . The reason I love this place is because unlike many of the newer bars and restaurants in HK that tend to be pretentious , Cochrane is a good place for some comfy food and drink. The reason I love this place is because unlike many of the newer bars and restaurants in HK that tend to be pretentious , Cochrane is a good place for some comfy food and drink. Tonight I had my favourite Ma Po Pizza which is a ma po tofu served on pizza base. May sound strange to some but in I found this as a nice comfy dish and definitely a little different. The Ma Po is only mildly spicy so it does go well with the pizza base and great to pair with some draft beer. For beer, I had the a Young Master classic beer, which is a truly local beer brewed in Hong Kong. Not too bitter and definitely very refreshing for Hong Kong's humid weather. My friend ordered a Kale salad which had cheese and cherry tomatoes in it. The Kale was fresh and the salad dressing was a tangy lemon vinagrette , which again I think it is a good dish for a hot humid Hong Kong summer. The service was also efficient and friendly.
