A cafe with a strikingly clean white shop front in the midst of the "oldish" eateries on Gilman's Bazaar. Very likable. The espresso machine looks really pro, but I'm no techie about these machines so I'm not gonna comment much here. What caught my eyes though, are the Godfather-themed paintings with red backlight. Cool. Free Wi-fi is even cooler. Espresso (single $19) is good. The crema is not thick (can't see well in the ambient light unfortunately), but it's "oily" --> I like that; the espr

Espresso (single $19) is good. The crema is not thick (can't see well in the ambient light unfortunately), but it's "oily" --> I like that; the espresso itself is bold, strong (I mean the caffeine) and maybe with a tinge of fruitiness as some reviewers mentioned.

Caffe Latte ($30) is a more mellow choice. Yup I love the latte art of a swan! You see the foam that stands tall like a souffle? And it's still there after some 5-10 minutes. Amazing. I choose skimmed milk as usual so it's less rich, but still very milky. The coffee this time is stronger than expected, yet I guess there might be some variations judging from previous reviews...that can be affected by a whole lot of factors anyway.

Flat White ($30) has a even higher milk content and is also less foamy than the latte. In recent years it has gained popularity in HK and it has now become my favorite coffee drink. This one is well executed but the espresso base is a bit thin this time (again variation - I had this on another visit).

Ristretto ($19) is a more concentrated or "shorter" version of an espresso and is better if you don't want to get too much fluids into your system - well it actually doesn't make too much difference. The crema does look thicker and shinier, and the flavors are more intense and concentrated, a nice one to kick off the morning.

On the floor there is usually the friendly owner with one or two more baristas. The lady barista was going up her learning curve back then, but I'm ready to come back soon and see how far she's gone that long way now!
