We planned to hike all around Lamma on Saturday, so we thought a big comfort food meal was called for. Lamma Grill has an enticing menu, but I just couldn't resist a cheeseburger and fries.The burger was good. Nice and meaty, but a little drier (as opposed to juicy) and more grilled-tasting than you commonly get. It had what I took to be shredded cheddar melted on top, and in satisfying quantities. The burger was good. Nice and meaty, but a little drier (as opposed to juicy) and more grilled-tasting than you commonly get. It had what I took to be shredded cheddar melted on top, and in satisfying quantities. I got mine with pickled jalapenos, which actually had some kick, but I wish there was lettuce and tomato on there too. The mustard seemed a little 'off'-- but maybe there was just too much of it? Still, I liked the burger, it was satisfying, and I ate it wolfishly. B+
Fries. These were fat fries cooked nice and tender like a baked potato, but greasier and nicely salted. Think 5 Guys, if you know what that is. I'll have to disagree with HK Epicurus below, sometimes 'soft' fries are warranted; my wife thought these were the best fries she'd had in Hong Kong. I wouldn't go that far. A-
We were able to get stools on the patio outside... nothing like a burger from a paper bag out in the drizzly afternoon. B+
