Probably came here to Umi with a high expectation....... wish the journey would have been more exciting. Covid, we were the only 2 customers there for lunch, we arrived at noon sharp. Yet chef didn’t seem to be ready. Experienced chef for sure, the salad, the starter, was wonderfully ensemble, the roots and veg are crisp and mmmm sesame-y. We were given a menu that didn’t serve the type of fish available on the day, this was the main disappointment. We felt we were given a second tier treatment.

We were given a menu that didn’t serve the type of fish available on the day, this was the main disappointment. We felt we were given a second tier treatment. How can u have no uni?!?! And the chu-toro looked like akami...... I will say the quality of fish is good, given the price it charged, we wouldn’t be expecting anything less than that. However with this price range Umi might have to step up the game in order to stay in the fierce competition in the sushi industry here in HK.
