Ground Zero is a coffee shop recently opened in Ngau Tau Kok. It’s quite an “all-round” coffee shop that offers good quality coffee, breakfasts, pastas, meats and homemade desserts etc. Ground Zero uses house blend Ethiopian, Brazil and Columbia coffee beans which give a balanced and nutty notes. The latte art is also great, featuring mainly seahorse and Pegasus (飛馬). Tagliatelle with Tiger Prawns “Aglio e Olio” and Roasted Spring Chicken are their signature dishes. The Tiger Prawns “Aglio e Olio” was a surprise to me. Egg pasta was used, and it was both peppery and spicy (麻辣). It wasn’t irritating but rather made the taste of pasta more complex. Roasted Spring Chicken was also tasty. The meat was tender but the skin was slightly crispy. For homemade desserts, I would recommend Tiramisu and Baileys Mousse Cake. Tiramisu had very rich cream and espresso flavour. Baileys Mousse Cake had light and airy mousse while the sweetness and baileys was just balanced.
