We had an early Saturday evening dinner at the Food Factory - I was going to a show later. In a high-ceilinged room overlooking the bustling streets of Mong Kok and Yau Mai Tei, the restaurant filled up while we were there, but the placement of the tables made sure it didn't feel too crowded. I had the 'fried rice with Norwegian smoked salmon and protein', where 'protein' means mushrooms, served in a set with a bowl of tomato soup and a drink. We also shared a plate of truffle wedges, which were pretty good, hot and cheesy. The soup was not very thick, but had a strong flavour. The fried rice first came with crab eggs, which I don't eat, but they happily replaced it with a crab-free plate of nice satisfying fried rice, plenty of salmon and mushroom well mixed in, and not stodgy as fried rice can be. I had a couple of chocolate mint drinks which made a nice contrast to the savoury rice, and came in a particularly cute glass. We unfortunately did not have time for dessert before I had to leave.
