A friend brought me to this Italian restaurant @ 石板街酒店 for lunch. It was such a beautiful restaurant that interior renovations were very European and antique! First of all, there were 3 types of bread in the bread basket. They were served warm. I particularly liked the raisin and walnut bun. The long bread stick was quite crispy and delicious too. The other one was more so-so. A small pot of olive oil and vinegar was served to each of us. I didn't quite like this arrangement because I liked vinegar only but not olive oil. Portion was so small that I didn't find the dip enough for the bread. I just could not be bothered to ask for more or just vinegar. Apology for not having taken any photos of the bread.

Parma Ham with Cantaloupe Melon, Truffle Honey

There were 3 choices of appetiser. One was vegetarian. All of us went for the parma ham. There were around 6 slices of parma ham with 3 big slices of melon. Melon was super fresh and juicy and went great with the parma ham which was salty yet not overly dry. There were some fresh salads on top with some truffle honey added which was quite a bit of surprise to me.

Grilled Beef Striploin with Green Pepper Jus

There were 4 choices of mains, one of which required a top-up. I went for the steak and asked for medium rare. Portion was quite big with a lot of meat to eat. It was grilled to the right degree so that it was slightly bloody yet super juicy and tender. Yummy! The sauce was not exceptionally strong though and didn't taste much like green pepper. Accompanying the steak there were half a baby potato, carrot, a few long string beans and a baby corn. Quality was nice.

Hot Chocolate

I was surprised that I could order chocolate as the set drink included without any top-up. I asked for skimmed milk. It was very milky and the amount of chocolate was not that much though.

I didn't order dessert but I saw my friend eating Chestnuts Mousse Cannoli which seemed OK.

I did feel full afterwards but got hungry very soon in the afternoon. Service was reasonable as a restaurant in a hotel.  But the napkin looked very very old. At this price, although definitely not cheap, I would say it was OK.
