came here for dinner with several friends and we ordered their quite popular marinated short ribs, raw beef dish (yook-hweh?), jap-chae (korean noodles), and tofu stew (soondooboo?).
the wait staff was helpful although they could be a bit more friendlier.
but the food at chowon definitely made up for it!! the restaurant even had a variety of grilled fishes and stews.
i've been to many other korean restaurants in both central and kowloon area, and this place is by far the best.
prices were fair and the food was beyond!

they even gave out generous amounts of various ban-chans (side dishes) with our meals...
but our party was most impressed with their selection of korean alcoholic drinks... we had the lemon soju (freshly, hand squeezed lemon juice into soju-- korean vodka drink), raspberry alcohol (bok bun ja?), and lots and lots of draught beer.
the atmosphere was casual & vibrant... when we were there i think a famous celebrity from korea was there since there were many people and fans outside the restaurant and one of the private rooms were packed... it was quite interesting to watch.
i guess the restaurant can be busy at times but we ended up cooking our own meats on the BBQ grill which was entertaining.
all in all, i highly recommend this place for authentic korean food! we're definitely thinking about going here again for our next gathering.
