Girls Happy Hour gathering, 4 of us decided to have a few drinks after work, after the Typhoon 8.

Have been to the 27/f for private party, and knowing they are actually the same chain. Just have a table available and gave it a try. Seating layout is very comfortable, big U shape sofa by the windows. Facing the commercial district with office lighting still on making us feel happier as we have off work!

There are many choices on the menu, not only snacks but soup, sandwiches and pasta; for people whom don't mind the low tables, would be nice to combine happy hour and dinner.

We ordered onion rings, deep fried squid, beef and chicken wings, all were quite delicious and the portions were perfect, nicely presented. Prices are reasonable, within $80 each. Especially the chicken wings, so delicious that we ordered 3 plates with half dozen each.

All house wine and standard drinks, beer are half price during happy hour. Indeed attractive. We ordered 3 bottles of white wine, sovignon blanc. There are more than one option for both red and white wines, plus sparkling as well. They were doing promotion for a sparkling ine, at $550 only.

The bad experience was, when I arrived at 6:30pm, the waiter told me the table had to be released after 8:30pm when other customers arrived; for sure, we had no problem. Our plan was just having a few drinks.

It's almost 9pm, no one came and it's almost end of happy hour; however, we would like to continue after we finished 3 bottles of white wine and 6 dishes of food. We would like to order one more bottle and an extra dish of chicken wings, because we all appreciated the good quality of the foodl; we understood that it wouldn't be happy hour price but we were fine, didn't even ask for any special offer.

Waiter: "You have to settle bill now, it's almost 9pm".
We: "We want to order something else, one more bottle and ...."
Waiter: "Cannot!".
We: "Why? What is the closing time?"

Waiter: "we are still open, but cannot order, you have to settle the bill"
We: "Yes, we can settle the bill now but why we cannot order something else? Do you mean the happy hour bill has to be seperated from original price?"

We are actually trying to help him explaining to us...

Waiter: "This is our company rule"
We: "Rule? Rule to kick out customers who are keep consuming while there are only 2 tables occupied with no new customers coming?"

Waiter: "It is our rule"
We: "Are the bars in this building belong to the same company and applying the same rule?"
Waiter: "All belong to same company, but I don't know how they work. The only thing I can tell is this is our rule, you need to settle the bill now and leave" ....

OKAY!!!

This is the most ridiculous business RULE that I have ever heard, can't imagine how the management create this to avoid customers spending in their bar.

Even the food is quite good, friendly price, but service is also very important. As long as it's a place for happy hour, we were so unhappy at the end.

I did vist the 27/th several months ago that they said it belongs to the same group, and we had great time there and never heard of something like this. I wonder if it is just personal fault or the group's new policy.
