I really like this Hong Kong style eatery. It's not fancy but it doesn't need to be. Every time I visit it's pretty full of customers spooning down a bowl of noodles with a glass of fresh soy milk. I really like this Hong Kong style eatery. It's not fancy but it doesn't need to be. Every time I visit it's pretty full of customers spooning down a bowl of noodles with a glass of fresh soy milk. My first choice each visit also seems to be the favourite of many others, the noodle bowl with dumplings and vegetables.

You have a choice of noodles, (udon, buckwheat, Japanese or rice), I alternate between udon and buckwheat but I chose the latter today, I really enjoy the more varied texture. The bowl always arrives quickly, hot soup hiding a mound of noodles. Near the top is a serving of sweetcorn, some courgette-esque thing and Chinese lettuce. The vegetables are normally pretty good, the sweetcorn is sweet, the lettuce is crisp. And then there are the dumplings...the first time I had these I was surprised to find my mouth filled with a hit of ginger but I loved it and have been going back once or twice a month ever since.

The atmosphere here is informal, initially it felt a little unfriendly but recently the older guy has been the main server and he seems pretty nice. The first two times I came here I had hygiene problems with items in the food but it seems to have been fine over the past few months, maybe I was just unlucky at first.

Also, the window seats are a fun spot to do some people-watching as long as you're comfortable being ogled whilst having your dinner.

I will definitely be returning for their good value, tasty and filling sets.
