I got my friend confirmed it is really that X記. He highly recommended that this place serve high quality sushi and is very expensive. As usual price is not what I concerned. It is the matter of food quality. So I went there alone at 5:30pm acutally just passed by there and have dinner appointment at 7:00pm tonight. But still I couldn't wait to check it out see if I can find a new place for high quality food.Ordered Ikura, Yellow tail, Toro, Tamago , Abalone, Jumbo Clam.First impression is their
Ordered Ikura, Yellow tail, Toro, Tamago , Abalone, Jumbo Clam.
First impression is their sushi is huge! I almost can't suck the whole ikura in my mouth. Their sushi is 50% larger than usual. I mean the meat is large not the rice. Second, the sushi didn't make well. Its shape is sloppy. One of the toro meat cut like a triangle and the yellowtail has 2 levels. Sure the cutting skill is not up to what I expect to consider a good sushi. The rice is acceptable, just slighly soft. The rice texture is not solid enough. Overall the tast is OK. They are not using the top grade of fish. The Ikura is the salty kind not the sweet one. Tamago is cold and hard, no freash sweet tast. Abalone is what I expected no too much tast like eating plastic. For Jumbo Clam Total, big meat too but not sweet. Price for all for is $440. I would say this is great value for that amount of money but if you're like me only looking for pure high quality not quantity then this is not the place.
One funny thing I want to share with you guys is when I sit in front of the sushi table. I ordered the Jumbo Clam then the boss said this is $100 per order. Then I order toro the boss tell me this is $140. Yes, I know I know I only wear my Old Navy T shirt with an old jean. Doesn't look like I can afford this kind of expensive food. Next time I will wear LV suit for your sushi. Just kidding.
