Schnee is a small and cosy place located in Sau Kei Wan that took some searching to find. Both the dining offers and the staff were most friendly and we might have slightly over-ordered as a party of three. The smoked salmon salad was fair; the greens and the smoked salmon were not too fresh but were remedied by the seasoning. The bread basket was a pleasant surprise with the crisp bread and crunchy breaksticks plus the mayonnaise butter. The mushroom soup wasn't creamy enough. The pig's knuckle
The pig's knuckle was humongous; it was a treat biting into the sizzling hot skin roasted to a golden colour, though the taste might be a trifle salty for the usual restaurant goers in Hong Kong. We also loved the classic sides of potatoes and the coleslaw. The spinach cheese spaghetti with scallops was rich though we expected the portion to be bigger. The pork belly was cut too thickly, this affected the gravy getting through and was too hard to bite into. The sweet potato chips and grilled vegetables were quite tasty.
Overall this was a very pleasant dinner; the portions were generous and the service was warm even when there were only 2 staff members catering for the whole restaurant. At around $208 per head, we consider this robust German dinner a great bargain.
