We came in a big group for dinner and ordered quite a lot of food.Given its name, oysters were a must-try. We ordered 6 oysters for each of us. Given its name, oysters were a must-try. We ordered 6 oysters for each of us. The server introduced each oyster to us and recommended an clockwise order of eating starting from the lemon so that we got to try sweet oysters first and more salty oysters afterwards. The oysters were fresh and the oyster meat was more solid compared with other oysters we often tried out there. However, I had expected more given its fame for oysters. These oysters lacked the flavour of fresh sea. The 翡翠螺 were again more solid than those we often tried out there but they were too small. The crab meat was fresh too.

These clams were better, pretty big and fresh. Maybe because we seldom had clams like these at other restaurants.

We also ordered some salad and pork feet to share of which I didn't take photos. They were ok. The bread, although not of too many varieties, was also ok.

I had the appetizer of Foie Gras Duet (terrine & pan-seared, fresh fig, ginger bread coulis, Maldon salt) at a price of $315 + 10%. The pan-seared foie gras was crispy outside and soft inside, but I found the flavour of foie gras not strong enough. Fortunately, the terrine offered a really rich flavour of foie gras. Did they do it on purpose?

We also ordered other appetizers to share like asparagus with mushrooms. The mushroom sauce tasted really good while the asparagus was just so-so.

I had the soup of Lobster Bisque (Lobster, old Armagnac, micro cress). It was brought to us first without soup and the server added the soup to the dish in front of us. It was quite disappointing as the lobster soup was not thick enough. It was just not concentrated enough. The lobster meat was ok.

I also tried some of this French Onion Soup (caramelized onion, foie gras, puff pastry). The puff pastry was ok only. I had expected a better smell from it. The foie gras was quite an interesting highlight of the soup. However, same as the previous soup, I found this one too diluted as well.

After waiting for so long, our mains finally arrived. I had Beef Rossini Modern (prime US beef tenderloin, foie gras, smoked potato, carrot puree, beef jus). The foie gras again was crispy outside and soft inside but I had expected a richer flavour of foie gras. The prime US beef tenderloin was very disappointing because it was so dry with no juice in it! I think it was overdone. The smoked potato tasted good though.

I also tried some of this lamb. This lamb was much better! It was so tender and quite juicy yet it was so lack of fat!

Another friend of mine ordered Rose Harissa Corn Fed Spring Chicken and he kept complaining that it was too spicy like Sichuan 水煮雞!

The highlight of the night was probably the puff pastry sticks they served after our meal.

Service was really slow so we had to wait for a long time between one dish and another. We also had to wait for a long time before our water was refilled and when we asked for something as simple as a straw. I don't think I would ever go back again.
