My friend, hearing I love Hainan chicken rice (and yes .. yes I do), told me a place near her home called OK德海南雞飯專門店 (no English name) opened recently serving Hainan chicken rice. Curious, I went to her place to give it a try!The place is located in near the Po Lum MTR station. It was literally across the street from the exit. The place is simple and serves not only Hainan chicken rice but also Vietnamese dishes. Menu is in English and Chinese. There is no 10% service charge. We shared an appet

We shared an appetizer of Vietnamese sugar cane shrimp ($58). There were four of them. I thought the shrimp paste was mushy. It tasted ok but the meat was too soft.
We both ordered a plate of Hainan chicken rice. $70 but if you want a set (which includes soup and vegetables), it's $80. Drinks are half price. A bit pricey I felt and soup, that is always included in majority of places was not offered here unless you upgrade to a set.
The chicken was good. Moist and tender. The rice was a bit dry with not much flavor. There was a little plate to pickles.
The soup was a chicken feet and carrots soup. I liked the soup quite a bit. Very rich and savory.
As I upgraded to the set, I also had vegetables. This was basically Chinese lettuce braised in soup. A bit disappointing they gave this vegetable but at least it tasted ok.
Food was ok. But clearly not worth travelling an hour from my home for. There are far better Hainan chicken rice places than here. Price was a bit pricey as well. Would I be back? I guess if in the area but not on purpose
